Vacation

Mike, Jordyn and I went to Virginia over labor day to visit my brother Jeff and his wife Kari and their 2 boys Garrett and Chance. I was so so so excited to go see them but a little nervous about entertaining Jordyn on the airplane. I was so glad that Mike was able to take off work and go with us. We got so lucky and we had an empty seat next to us both ways. It was so nice for Jordyn to have her own space to sit and jump and eat and lay. She did surprisingly well on the plane and she was a champion sleeper at Jeff and Kari's. She slept at least 13 hours a night and took a nap everyday! So we got there on Saturday and we just hung around their house that night and then Sunday we went to church with them and then played games together after the kids went to bed. On Monday, it was labor day so Jeff and Garrett were home with us so we all went downtown to the national zoo. I had never been there and it was really fun. Jordyn loved pointing out all the animals and loved following Garrett around and holding his hand.

The next day we went to the mall and let the little kids ride the train and the carousel. Jordyn loves trains right now. Both of them were a little nervous on the carousel so they just rode on the bench. :)

The next day Kari took us to this awesome park that was huge and very toddler friendly. Jordyn was in heaven. She was running so fast we could hardly keep up with her. It was really hot that day but we had tons of fun there.

The next day we went to the outlets and to lunch. Guess I forgot to take pics... On Friday  our last full day there, Jeff took the day off and we headed to the air and space museum at the Dulles airport. It is just a big hanger filled with planes. It was really cool to see all of the planes and Jordyn loved running around. My favorite part was seeing the space shuttle. It was huge!!

This trip was pretty low key and just what we needed. We had so much fun playing games each night after to kids went to bed and watching movies and eating junk. :) Thanks to Jeff and Kari for such a fun trip and entertaining us all week! I love that Jordyn got to spend some quality time with them and get to know those cousins that she doesn't get to see very much. She loved loved loved Garrett. He was so cute to her and would make her laugh so hard. She played really good with Chance too. She definitely was missing them when we got home and she had to play with mom or dad.

And I had to add this pic from my cell phone cause it just shows how some of the nights were spent...
